Teaching Fellow / Lecturer / Senior Lecturer, Degree Apprenticeships – Computer Science            Flexible Location London OR Birmingham OR Leeds OR Manchester OR Bristol

About our role: Teaching Fellow / Lecturer / Senior Lecturer, DEGREE Apprenticeships – Computer Science (e.g. Software Engineering, Big Data, Analytics, Networking & Cyber Security, etc.)

Your focus: Do you have a passion for teaching, imparting knowledge, engendering new skills and behaviours, and keeping up-to-date in an ever-changing world? Do you want to deliver outstanding industry informed teaching on our fully blended and innovative BSc (Hons) Digital & Technology Solutions and MSc Digital and Technology Solutions Specialist Degree Apprenticeships?

At QA we are passionate about the positive impact of degree apprenticeships as a means of enabling engagement with Higher Education for the wider social spectrum.  We are committed to developing innovative means of teaching that support the new modes of study required by modern students.

You will be working within a growing and expanding team where we all work, support and learn from each other in order to provide our Learners with a dedicated, exceptional level of service that we are extremely proud to be part of.

As a Teaching Fellow, Lecturer or Senior Lecturer you will be expected to teach at undergraduate and postgraduate levels (depending on experience) across two functional areas and to be able to accommodate learners integrating material from any module, into any role, in any sector.

About the Programmes: The BSc (Hons) Digital & Technology Solutions and MSc Digital and Technology Solutions Specialist Degree Apprenticeships involve the delivery of a number of computing streams which incorporate Software Engineering, Computer Networking, Cyber Security, Big Data, Analytics and Maths, and broader areas of Computer Science.

Our programmes use a mixture of distance and face-to-face teaching and facilitation across the country using experiential and spiral methods to develop theories-in-action in a work-based learning approach that is both scholarly and professional.

Our use of skills coaches (who visit the learners in the workplace) and their liaison with you is designed to create a progressive and valuable experience for every student and their employer.

Our learners come from a wide variety of backgrounds and work for an equally wide variety of companies including some of the biggest technology companies in Europe. You will also be involved setting and marking of assessments as well as the continued development of new and existing module material.

Your focus:  You will be expected to teach at undergraduate and postgraduate levels (depending on experience) across two functional areas and to be able to accommodate learners integrating material from any module, into any role, in any sector.

As important is role-modelling your interest in inquiry and focussing into organisations to promote the professional development of our learners (their employees).

We work as a geographically dispersed but close-knit team, sharing teaching experiences and new ideas. We challenge each other and work determinedly and efficiently, to reach ever improving teaching and learning standards and outcomes.

You will be required to teach and facilitate in face-to-face sessions across the breadth of QA sites as the teaching schedule requires.  This may require overnight stays.

Bring your experience: Please see the attached Job descriptions for Teaching Fellow, Lecturer, and Senior Lecturer levels.  Appointment to roles will be dependent on existing skills, experience, qualifications, and requirements.

Your Learning & Development with QA, how can we support you? Naturally you will have a comprehensive Induction Programme organised and you will be introduced to various internal teams and stakeholders. You will attend our well received Company Orientation Programme and of course complete our mandatory e-learning training.  Being a training and education provider, your continuous Learning and Development is of huge importance to us and as an individual contributor, we can agree a suitable Pathway to achieve your goals and aspirations.

Our benefits and values:

We offer 2 paid Charity Days each year to support your chosen charity in whatever way you choose AND if you get involved in charity fundraising, QA will also double any sponsorship money raised, up to £250.

It’s important, too, to plan for the future and our later years, so we offer a defined contribution pension plan and will match your contributions up to a maximum of 3% of your basic salary.

Giving peace of mind we provide by Life Assurance (4x your basic salary) and Permanent Health Insurance (after a qualifying period) in the event that ill health, or worse, disrupts our plans.
