Management Accountant

About our role:  Are you ideally a fully qualified and experienced Management Accountant looking for a new challenge in a fast paced, vibrant and progressive environment? Are you looking for an opportunity where you can demonstrate your financial acumen and analytical skills with opportunities of improving processes?

Your focus: As Management Accountant for our Learning Business, you will be focused on the preparation, review and analysis of accurate management accounts to include commentary. Working within the largest area of our business, you will have the experience to learn quickly, analysis in detail and produce complex reporting giving our senior stakeholder well informed information as required. You will be assisting our Head of Management Accounts, work closely with our existing 2 Management Accountants and coach/mentor our juniors.

Additionally, as you progress, your involvement in projects and improving efficiency will be a vital part of evolving the department to create a streamlined, dependable Team. As part of our commitment to you, we provide a study support programme if you are at part-qualified stage to help you achieve your CIMA/ACCA certification

The day to day:

Preparation, review and analysis of accurate and timely management accounts including commentary

Balance sheet reviews Monthly/Quarterly

VAT Return

Supporting yearend audit

Continual review and improvement of procedures and key controls

Supporting the new financial system implementation

Ad hoc projects and reporting

Bring your experience: Having worked in a similar role, you will have a good working knowledge of accounting principles as well as advanced experience using excel (specifically VLOOKUP & Pivot Tables). You will thrive on attention to detail, accuracy, have good time management skills and a structured approach to prioritising your workload. 

Critical to the role, you will need to be CIMA/ACCA (or equivalent) qualified or part-qualified and have excellent communication skills to engage with our internal and external stakeholders.
