Lecturer Business & Finance Full-time (9 months’ fixed term)

Solent University to start mid September 

Southampton

Are you a creative, passionate and student-focused individual with experience of teaching Foundation Level subjects in the contexts of Business and Finance Fundamentals? Do you have an aspiration to work with International learners?

If so, you could be just the person we are looking for to join our teaching team as a lecturer based at our Pathway Centre at Solent University.  Successful candidates will teach on modules across our International Foundation Pathway Programmes.

About the role: This is a fixed-term (9 months), full-time role and you may be required to teach on a variety of Business programmes, including the following:

Level 3

Management Fundamentals

Business Environment

Level 4

Managerial Accounting

Business data analytics and IT skills  

Global organisation and Resource Management

Marketing Principles and Communication in Business

Business Economics

Your key responsibilities:  

  • To deliver up to 20 hours per week
  • To ensure all associated duties, including the preparation of classes, marking and timely feedback are performed to the required standard.
  • To deliver classes within the prescribed course syllabus for each programme and ensure that all aspects of the course delivery, both teaching and teaching related, meet the stated aims and learning outcomes.
  • To provide regular progression reports for students studying on our programmes.
  • To provide pastoral care and support to international students
  • To plan and manage own workload effectively.
  • To participate in the writing of assessments for our business programmes.
  • To assist in the organization, invigilation, marking and feedback for any course work or assignments as required.
  • To participate in the standardisation of assessments.
  • To ensure that all course administration (for example, recording assessment results) is completed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • To attend and contribute to any CPD training sessions organised internally or externally.

Experience and qualifications

Teaching experience and relevant academic qualifications in the contexts Business. You will have an aspiration to work with International learners.
